YouTheatre Policies & Procedures

Egyptian YouTheatre Information & Policies

Egyptian YouTheatre Classes are held at the new

Egyptian Studios - 330 Main St. (basement)

(accessible from same side of street as Egyptian Theatre via breezeway between Swede Alley & Main St.)

At EYT we believe that ensemble theatre is a team sport, requiring consistent attendance and participation. We will begin invoicing parents for repeated late pick-ups and absences, without prior notice and approval. Communication is key! We do retain the right to make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

By registering my child in an Egyptian YouTheatre Class, I acknowledge it is my responsibility to adhere to the following:

Punctuality. I understand that arriving on time for drop-off & pick-up is imperative for the smooth running of classes. I will drop off and pick-up only at the designated area, and within the 10-minute drop-off & pick-up times. I understand YouTheatre staff is not responsible for my child if I drop off earlier than designated drop-off time and that Egyptian YouTheatre may bill me $5/minute for every minute a YT staff member needs to wait with my child to be picked-up past the 10-minute designated pick-up time. New safety protocols mean our entrances will be locked to the public. Latecomers are not permitted to join class without prior notice/approval, and consistent tardiness could result in charges and/or dismissal.

Illness. I agree to monitor my child’s health for the days prior to camp start date and each day of classes. I will not drop my child(ren) off to class if they exhibit any of the following symptoms: fever, shortness of breath, diarrhea, muscle aches, nausea, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, vomiting. If my child exhibits these symptoms during the class session, I will pick my child up promptly when contacted by YouTheatre staff.

- Attendance. I understand that consistent attendance in essential for my child to get the most out of their class experience and I agree to give prior notice for all absences. I understand that if my child(ren) have multiple unexplained absences I will be issued a warning for removal and invoiced $30 on the second class (for 5-week sessions) or on the third class (for 10-week sessions). The next unapproved absence will result in my child(ren) being removed from the class roster.

Student Engagement

To encourage student participation we are introducing a ticket-based reward system, redeemable at the new YouTheatre Store!

Students will earn tickets by checking in to class on time and actively participating in each class. The store will be open to students during Week 5 (Oct 10-12) and Week 10 (Nov 14-17) during Fall Semester. Tickets can roll over from Fall Semester to Spring for students who want to save up for bigger items!

Behavior Policy

The Egyptian YouTheatre runs on a three-strike behavior policy for students. Strike 1 is a verbal warning directly to the student. Strike 2 includes notifying the parent of the situation. Strike 3 will result in dismissal from the program.

5-Week Session Policy

In our mission to serve as many kids as possible, we have decided to split some of our most popular classes into two sessions per semester. These sessions do not build on each other, but are the same classes repeated for new students. Families who wish to participate in multiple sessions of the same class will be placed on the waitlist of the second session, in order to give priority to others. They will be moved off the waitlist on a first-come, first-serve basis if the session has not been filled.

Thank you for believing in our mission! Please click here for class information.

Welcome! Egyptian YouTheatre is now FREE for all participants!

Registration for Fall classes has closed. The Spring Semester schedule will be posted here in December.

To ensure that we are serving as many students as possible, each child is permitted to enroll in a maximum of two weekly classes per semester. This includes the Fall Show (students can be in the show AND take one other weekly class). The only exception is YTA- students accepted into YTA will be allowed to take two additional classes if desired.

The artist formerly known as After School YouTheatre is now part of the Park City School District After Care Program! To sign up for the classes at the elementary schools, please enroll in the After Care program at your school through PCSD. EYT is no longer taking those registrations independently. The classes at the Egyptian Studios are separate.

Our History
Since 1995 the Egyptian Theatre has enriched children's lives through their YouTheatre programs. YouTheatre has taught over a thousand aspiring actors who have gone onto study acting in college or pursue careers in the theatrical arts. Some former YouTheatre students have performed on Broadway-- their dream come true!

Our Mission
The Egyptian Theatre YouTheatre program is based on the premise that participating in an arts program is an important aspect in the growth of every child. From the teamwork of being part of a cast, the discipline required putting on a production, and the confidence gained performing before a live audience, our young actors are instilled with an appreciation for the performing arts that will carry them into adulthood.
